Kenosha, a city of 100,000 that a generation ago was a car-making powerhouse in Wisconsin, is the latest setting for a police shooting that left residents reeling. The shooting of Jacob Blake, a Black resident of Kenosha, by a police officer was captured in a brief but searing video and drew immediate condemnation from Gov. Tony Evers, a Democrat. The shooting set off protests and looting overnight throughout Kenosha’s small downtown on the shore of Lake Michigan. On Monday morning, dump trucks that had been set ablaze outside the county courthouse were still sending an acrid smell through the air. Stunned shop owners swept up glass that had been smashed overnight and boarded up their storefronts with sheets of plywood. About 125 members of the Wisconsin National Guard were sent to Kenosha on Monday afternoon after city officials requested the deployment from the governor’s office, a spokeswoman for Evers said. The Kenosha police ordered a curfew in the city for the second night in a row, beginning at 8 p.m. Blake, 29, was said to be stable at a nearby hospital on Monday. The shooting instantly turned into a rallying cry for demonstrators in cities like Portland, Ore., Madison, Wis., and Chicago, and became a topic in the presidential race, where Wisconsin is a crucial battleground state. On Monday, as Republicans were kicking off their national convention, Joseph R. Biden Jr., the Democratic nominee for president, spoke out against the police officer’s actions. “The nation wakes up yet again with grief and outrage that yet another Black American is a victim of excessive force,” he said. Complied images of the shooting in #kenosha #wisconsin Gunman was a 17 year old minor, this could possibly explain his poor judgement. Before the first shooting you can see he is being chased. I have unconfirmed reports that the man chasing him is on video taunting and instigating armed militia. The first gunshot victim is reported dead he is alive in the videos and it’s unknown if he was DOA when taken to the hospital. The shooting was reported to be across the street from the hospital. The gunman can be seen pulling out a cell phone and saying “I just killed someone” Moments later the gunman trips while being chased the first shots miss but the final two hit. In the photos attached it’s clear the man with the skateboard was not assaulting but trying to disarm the gunner. He was shot in the chest likely in the heart he died before being loaded into the back of a police bearcat. The third gun shot victim can actually be seen pointing a glock at the seated gunman. The round actually glanced and went through the bicep. It was likely a hollow point judging by the damage the muscle looks to be destroyed but no major arteries hit. Two dead one injured gunman turned himself over to police but police reports state they are still looking for the shooter. #blm #boogaloos #3percent #proudboys #kenoshawisconsin #protest #riot #shooting #policebrutality #whitesupremacy #racism #graphic #violence #blood #death #fatality #fatal
